Fifth Discussion Blog Post

The article I chose was named “A Toke and a Tax” by Jeremy Singer. In this article the author makes the argument that marijuana should be legalized and taxed to gain revenue from its sales. The author uses source and some statistical evidence to make the point. Although I agree with the author that legalizing and taxing marijuana would be a big jump in revenue, I disagree overall because legalizing marijuana does more bad than good. With the possibilities of what could happen and also the likelihood of some things getting worse and some other things going wrong, people would rather their family being safe than saving some money with the possibility of them getting hurt.
