Healthcare is a huge issue in America because the government does not provide it, not everyone has it, and people can’t afford it. Is the healthcare system broken and what should we do to fix it? I think every American should have access to high quality health care. The number of uninsured Americans is increasing and more people are being denied coverage. We need to establish a better system to help everyone. I think everyone should be allowed healthcare so I’m going to have to stand by universal healthcare. This topic is great because there are moral issues and economical issues. Another issue is the legalization of Marijuana. There are so many issues with the legalization of Marijuana and I think it would be a great topic to discuss. I think it would be better to legalize because it could help some states, such as California pay off their debt. Marijuana is a huge underground business and the government could definitely make some good money taxing it. Crime rate would definitely go down also. Another topic I am interested in is abortion. I am pro-choice and believe women should have the choice to have a baby aborted or not. It’s definitely sad when babies are aborted because it’s like killing a child, but sometimes it’s not meant to happen. My fourth topic I was thinking about writing is gay marriage. Gay marriage is a popular topic in America today. I think gay marriage should be allowed all through out the U.S.

ReplyDeleteYou'll need to be very careful in terms of how you talk about such rights -- gay marriage laws are state laws -- not federal. As such, it's far too big a topic to argue that gay marriage should be legal "everywhere" (even though I agree that it should). Perhaps, to narrow the argument effectively, you could focus on CA.
