Blog 8 - Workshops

I for one am extremely confused by this whole workshop thing. Are we supposed to critique one of the people on the assignment list, or all three of them? Do we volunteer to be critiqued by asking professor Bolaski? I'm so lost, I only just found the section where we CAN workshop today, I'm pretty sure I missed out on last week's session. I thought everything was going to be done through the course website, then I realized today that it said on Blackboard. :/ I'm pretty bummed, the papers I've read so far were really good and I wish I'd been able to participate last week. One thing I really like about reading the papers is getting to see everyone's strengths and weaknesses and compare them to my own as a I write my next paper. I can see what a good thesis looks like (even if it's for a different subject), and use it as a sort of ruler to determine how successful my thesis will be. It's a very interesting idea, but in an online class like this I feel it's very confusing. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to taking an online course. Does anyone else feel the same way?

  1. Don't worry Erin, this is the first week we do the Worshop =)
You are supposed to workshop all three papers you are assigned to, and if you want to volunteer your position paper for next week just email professor Bolaski asap!
