Blog 9

Being completely new to this whole online class idea, it was actually better than I thought. The assignment I found most relevant (academically) would have to be the research paper (the one we're currently working on). Throughout the course, I've had a lot of trouble with MLA formatting and citing different authors. The research paper has given me a lot of help, not just with MLA, but with the whole research process in general. The assignment I'm mostly proud of would have to be the argument response paper, mainly because that was the one I was most passionate about. One thing I didn't like about the course was the ancilliaries. I didn't think they were much of a help because we ended up not getting them back in time, graded and critiqued, for our papers. As I explored some different ideas for my research paper, I learned about a lot of different topics that are the center of CNN and Seventeen Magazine, i.e.: teen pregnancy, illegal immigration, abortion, and racism. The class taught me more than I had expected and although we didn't normally go through the standard english requirements I'm used to (grammar, vocabulary, short stories), it was a great class! :)
